Shaykh Mokhtar Maghraoui discusses the reality behind the Divine command to Sayiduna Ibrāhīm to slaughter his son. They both surrendered, and their hearts were broken and emptied out. Allah ﷻ then refashioned them anew with nothing in them except Himself. Emptied of the finite, they were given the gift of infinity. The reality of the test has been achieved: the lower self has been slaughtered.
